Bones in my sashimi, twice! And they offer nothing!! It hurt my cheek! Ruined my night!!

The best sushi place till now. Great sushi and vegetarian friendly. Do try the Agedashi tofu(it has fish flakes but u can ask them to remove it.)

Good food with nice pleasant staff. Very reasonably-priced with good menu options.

My first time visiting was so nice so I expected kinda too much. Food is fine but service is kinds of slow and they never check how's the food or level of water. They just serve the food but not anymore. Good for getting food oneself or person who doesn't like coming to the table.

Cool place with really, really good food! The staff are attentive and friendly but the food is what really stands out. I would definitely recommend this place for sure!

Probably the best bang for your buck sushi place I’ve ever visited. Decor is subtle and cozy, I liked the overall vibe of the place. We ordered the Spicy Combo, Super Dragon Roll, and Crunch Roll. All were really delicious, with great flavour and texture. The best feature for me however, was the Asahi Super Dry on tap. Great lager, and to drink it on tap was a real treat! The sushi and two beers all came out to $44. Amazing value for the quality you get!

One of my favorite sushi restaurants in the downtown core for years now.They are so close to getting 5stars except consistency isnt 100%That being said, this restaurant always has fresh fish and wonderful taste. Prices are great staff is friendly and the taka sunomono is the frucking bomb.

Great service! Right on Davie St & Thurlow, this place is pretty busy, however, service is fast, professional and polite, with very beautiful smiles, and the food, which is fresh, delicious and very tasty, comes within minutes of ordering it!

I was a regular customer in this place. On the day of my visit, servers were nice and food was decent as usual...but the lady in the restaurant seem like a owner... not sure... continously scolded staffs like nonstop...OMG that made me super uncomfortable dine in the restaurant... not sure my next visit

Came for dinner. Very happy with the food taste and quality. Very yummy! Presentation came out hot and fresh. We were seated by the kitchen so we watched them make everything. Will definitely come back.

What the hell is this? Is this a joke? I took a picture of the roll beside a packet of soy sauce for comparison. One of the pieces I took a picture of you can see there is essentially nothing in it. I didn’t take anything from inside the roll out. How can this be TWELVE DOLLARS? I work at the hospital nearby and showed some of my coworkers so they would know never to come here, and they too were all in shock. It’s literally 2 pieces of “shrimp tempura” but basically just the batter, a paper thin layer of salmon on top, and a lick of avocado. Not even any imitation crab. Why does this place have 4.1 stars? Aren’t us Vancouverites supposed to know our sushi? I love sushi and this ruined my day. The only thing I would recommend is for this place to close down.

My favorite sushi place so far in Vancouver. I come there by myself on a regular basis and everyone that joined me was very happy too (European, Japanese, north American). Prices are very reasonable and everything I've tried is really good. I recommend you go there for sushi but otherwise Donburi & bento boxes are available. Dinner or lunch is fine.My favorite rolls are the tuna tataki roll, the crazy girl roll and the yam tempura roll. Every bite is full of flavor, the texture is just right. Service is great, I always get served very quickly. The location is also very convenient, in the very lively Davie St neighborhood.

This used to be my favourite sushi joint in the city for years but lately the food quality has dropped off a cliff. I don't know if they changed chefs or what but the rice quality is consistently terrible and the rolls are refrigerated and not fresh. They also raised their prices recently which really doubles down on the bad experience.

Waitresses are excellent. They look like dolls and have great customer service. Food is very clean. Chefs do not speak while preparing 🍣 sushi. Costly. Wheelchair and transit accessible.

Sunomono consisted of dry uncooked clump of noodles. Inedible.

Those are avocado and spicy tuna rolls...I've never seen like that quality.I am so disappointed and I do not think visit there again.

I ordered the Assorted Sushi Combo for delivery. It was mindfully packed and everything was so well placed in the take-out containers. The meal was fresh and delicious. Just what I needed. Thanks!

There were by far the worst Nigiris I've ever eaten in my life and I did a lot of Japanese restaurants. The fish was not correctly cut so it was damn hard to chew. The overall experience was disappointing but the service still remained good, therefore two stars instead of one.

Very good portion sizes and fresh food. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Love their Gangster Chef roll and Salmon & Avocado roll. Healthy brown rice option is available for all rolls and nigiri.

Quaint sushi place with great lunch bento box deals and Sashimi salad was great! I will definitely make a visit again :)

Very good sushi! We had the Tuna Tataki roll, Unagi roll and the Spicy Sushi Combo. My favourite was a Tuna Tataki roll - definitely order it if you like tuna and a slightly torched taste. There were also mildly pickled onions on top but I love onions so that was no problem for me. Staff are very friendly as well

Delicious food, excellent service and wonderful mood. We were looking for an open restaurant during a Christmas Day and Kadoya welcomed us and set up a table even during a very busy hour. Try their Rainbow Roll!!

Very low quality food at Kadoya. I don't understand the good reviews here. Have these people eaten anywhere else in town?! Sushi rice was dry, toppings aren't creative and dressings not delicious. There was a bad smell in the restaurant, not sure if was the washroom or dead fish. Very experience, sorry I won't go back.

Came back after a year and was pleased to find that the quality's just as good as I remembered. I've had a lot of sushi in my life and the quality here is as good as can be found. I appreciate restaurants that remain consistent. Prices are affordable so it's a good place to dine on a budget.

Does anyone know what happened to the previous owner/chief? Ive been going to Kadoya for the last 10 years, and I used to love their sushi especially Combo G all spicy, but since there is new ownership and new chief(s) sushi isn't the same as it used to be, and my favorite place isn't favorite anymore :( can anyone help me out if you know where are the old staff went?

I had a great meal at Kadoya! The service was terrible this time around. They took a very long time to serve me and my friends. For whatever reason they served a couple before us even though they arrive after.

Kadoya is a well-known casual family restaurant in Vancouver. While I felt that this restaurant is trying to be on a more formal side, they kept the same good quality. I ordered the typical black vinegar glaze with vegetable and fried chicken combo. The portions are generous for Japanese standard. However, the price is a bit higher than I would have like.

Sushi was phenomenal! We ordered a Nigiri and Sashimi combo. We had a wonderful dining experience. The staff were very attentive and the chef even came out to explain the different fish. They brought us delicious Hamachi Kama on the house! As we were going out the door the owner ran out to thank us and ask us if we had a good experience. We were blown away. Definitely plan to go back when we are back in Vancouver. :)
